- this US site has a news section and archive and links to corporate sites which "best facilitate shareholder involvement in corporate governance issues as well as links to other sites with information on specific corporations". There is a Library listing articles, books, book reviews and conference papers on corporate governance as well as online materials (including links to official corporate governance codes) and includes an annotated bibliography on the subject.

Corporate Governance - journal published by MCB University Press, subtitled 'The International Journal of Effective Board Performance' and includes a sample article, a listing of selected forthcoming articles and subscription information.

Corporate Governance Committee (EASD) - homepage of the Corporate Governance Committee of the European Association of Securities Dealers, which contains their full text of the 'Corporate Governance Principles and Recommendations' published in May 2000.

Corporate Governance in Russia - information about corporate governance in Russia. This website is the result of a project by the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) and the Investor Protection Association (IPA), with OECD funding.

Centre for Corporate Governance - The Center For Corporate Governance was established in August 2001 by the Institute of Directors (India) with a view to galvanising good governance pratices in corporate and public life. It is affiliated to the World Coucil For Corporate Governance.
Governance is concerned with empowering people, spurring and pursuing innovation and improving efficiency. It addresses conflicts of interest which can impose burdens on the enterprise. Ensuring transparency, and probity in corporate affairs can make a major contribution to improving business standards leading to increased market capitalisation.

Corporate Governance Institute - website of a US based education and research centre 'dedicated to the study and application of corporate governance principles'.

Corporate Governance of Information Systems - full text of the IS guideline on 'Corporate Governance of Information Systems' as published by the Information Systems Audit and Control Association on their website. Effective 1998 onwards.

Corporate Governance Winter 2000/2001 Progress Report - Increasing regulation and Turnbull full compliance (Deloitte & Touche) - report from Deloitte & Touche focusing on the impact of full compliance with the combined code. In addition, Deloitte & Touche have also made available a corporate governance disclosure checklist. Both downloads are in PDF format.

Danish Corporate Governance Network - website of the DCGN, a non-profit network of professionals with a common interest in corporate governance (with international coverage in English).

Encycógov - vast non-commercial encyclopedia on corporate governance, previously known as 'The Corporate Governance Encyclopedia'. The site includes a range of resources on general topics, as well as specific issues of relevance to professionals in this field such as ownership structures and incentive pay systems.

European Centre for Governance and Risk - launched in Spring 1998 with the intention of developing a centre of excellence for research into corporate governance, based at Bournemouth University. The website outlines the aims of the centre, and lists their areas of research interest.

European Corporate Governance Network - website of the non-profit research ECGN network, which was founded in 1996 and aimed to tackle the lack of hard data on corporate governance. Based at the European Centre for Advanced Studies in Economics and Statistics (ECARES) at the Université Libre de Bruxelles with funding from the EU, OECD and European Companies. The site includes an impressive archive of library materials which includes: Downloadable CG codes from across the world including UK, and a useful links page.

German Panel on Corporate Governance - available in English as well as German, this website includes the Corporate Governance rules from July 2000 for Quoted German companies and a Scorecard for German Corporate Governance from the German Association of Financial Analysts, Portfolio Managers, and Investment Consultants.

Global Corporate Governance Forum - established to 'provide assistance to developing transition economies on corporate governance' this website gives detailed information about the structure and role of the organisation. A full text library of archived speeches is also provided, with topics covered including corporate governance issues in Africa and the former Russian Republics.

International Corporate Governance Network - international network founded in 1995 following the convergance of corporate governance bodies around the world. The website set outs the history and principles of the organisation, along with a Statement on Global Corporate Governance Principles which includes a statement on the OECD principles, an ICGN approach to the OECD principles and an amplification of the OECD Principles.

OECD Corporate Governance Page - probably the most comprehensive international website looking at corporate governance, developed by the Corporate Affairs Division of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. The site is packed with information from a variety of sources, including sections that cover:

  • OECD Principles of Corporate Governance. Full text of the principles in pdf and html formats.

  • Corporate Governance Roundtables in Asia, Eurasia, Latin America and Russia. Provides an overview of the role of each roundtable, a schedule of meetings and the full text of country background and conference presentations (in powerpoint and pdf formats) made to each roundtable. Presentations range from 'Corporate Governance in the Kyrgyz Republic' to 'Ownership, Control and Corporate Valuation of Brazilian Companies'.

  • Statistics. International statistics, with a strong emphasis on Corporate Governance in Japan
