Project Overview
McLaughlin Middle School Gym is a brand new, 28,300 square foot facility in Lake Wales, Florida. WCF’s is providing pre-construction services on this project. The scope of work will include sitework, tilt wall concrete, structural steel, roofing, doors, overhead doors, stucco, polished concrete, drywall, painting, lockers, metal canopies, athletic equipment, HVAC and electrical. This project will be constructed to storm-resistant federal standards to also serve as a hurricane shelter. This $15 million gymnasium will host a variety of McLaughlin athletic programs and will also be used as a meeting space for the school and community. The project groundbreaking occurred on December 15th, 2022. Construction on the gymnasium is expected to begin in January 2023 and is due to be completed by June 2024. The Architect for this project is SchenkelShultz Architecture.
